An Urban Feel about things

The weather is like Groundhog Day, so I took the girls out to get an urban perspective and do something a little different.  This is what I got:

Charlotte's face is always full of funny expressions.  She's a funny little thing!

FF: The Heath Family

This family was so gorgeous and funky - I loved them and I loved the gorgeous dog Phoebe (she had gorgeous soulful eyes).  Here's a sneak peak!

{A Teaser}

It was lovely photographing this family again - last time I did so, Jane was newly pregnant.  Aren't they all gorgeous?

{A little bit of Bling}

On Saturday, I had a great day photographing Kylie & Peter's Wedding.  I had a good feeling about it as I heard all of the details in the planning, and I was proved right on the day.  Kylie had the bridesmaids and herself wearing gorgeous robes with thier titles in a splash of bling on the back of the robes, and the morning was full of loud music, pink champagne and a lot of giggles.

At the Ceremony, the rain stopped just as Kylie's brother walked her down the aisle at Harold Boas Gardens.  There was so much love and emotion between both her and Peter - the tears flowed and the love shone.

Later that day, we went to Freshwater Bay, where the sky was the loveliest I have ever seen it.  The Commodore of Claremont Yacht Club kindly lent us his boat so that Kylie and Peter could have some images taken there.

It was a gorgeous day, and if you think that Kylie was simply the loveliest bride, vote for her on the Bride of the Year Competition which she will be entering in shortly.

Kylie was looking rather pensive and nervous while the girls were dressing her, and I asked her to look at me and I said just one word:  Peter - literally a thousand watt smile came out and her eyes sparkled.

Click to get full resolution on this storyboard - I had to add it in because of the expression on Kylie face.  You can see with the first picture what's about to happen because the dress is about to get caught up with her shoes.
The Image below is what I was trying to achieve:

I couldn't resist this final image, the light was dying and the sky was spectacular.

Thank you to both Kylie and Peter for letting me part of your beautiful day.

{I have a daughter who is a Crafting Queen}

Alex has a serious calling to craft!  It feeds her soul like nothing else, and she will spend an entire weekend crafting, colouring, drawing, cutting, glueing, sticking and anything else one could think of.  In fact, the Kids Create feeds her addiction slightly, but it's never enough!  So I have the Easter Weekend off and she persuaded me to make these gorgeous paper flowers with her.  I was rewarded with a model shoot afterwards to model the flowers (I am so lucky, I tell you - she's a difficult one to pin down and photograph - typical photographer's daughter!!).  The best thing about doing this with her is that she was exhausted afterwards and just wanted to veg in front of the T.V. :)

OK - I know I have seriously vignetted me out of the above picture, but I wasn't dressed for the occaison!

Alex took the picture to the right.  These paper flowers were such a good idea, so easy (no glue, no cutting!)

So now we have made the flowers and I get to photograph my gorgeous girl modelling the flowers she has just made.

These are all exactly in sequence . . . she's a star, isn't she?

The next picture is (I think) the best photograph I have ever taken of this darling girl.  She so beautiful, artistic & special.
I had a wonderful afternoon with you my darling, Mum xxooxx

P.S.  Would you believe that she had half an hour break and then came back wanting me to print out some colouring pages?  It never ends :)

{The Easter Parade}

My darling youngest had her Easter Parade yesterday with her Easter Bonnet.  Poor darling, she is so serious and doesn't paticularily like performing to an audience, but would smile each time she came past me!

A dear friend of mine took the photographs of me and Charlotte.

Happy Easter to everyone! Hope you get lots of Easter Eggs!

We proudly believe that she had the best hat!

I see some of the gorgeous & glamourous photographs of other photographers and think . . . hmm . . . I need someone to make me look glamourous and skinny too . . . any volunteers?

{A Dawesville Wedding and a Dog called Missy}

I had the opprotunity of shooting with lovely Tasj from NK Photography when I was asked to assist her (I actually begged her:)).  The wedding was at Dawesville on Jon + Karen's property and what a beautiful day it was!  The weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding, and Karen looked beautiful.

{A revisit to an old image}

I'm organising an advert and I found this image again and remembered how much I love it.  The bride (who is a dear dear friend of mine) decided to trust me to document her wedding, and it was my first.  I was thrilled and excited and also sick with fear, but to this day it remains one of my favourite weddings.  Karen decided to surprise everyone, so she told them all to come for a party to celebrate her engagement (even her parents didn't know!).  She then got dressed at a friend of the families house and arrived on a boat to the location in a white wedding dress.

I think this image represents so much about weddings - her smile I think is a mixture of pure "I've done it!" joy & the relief that it worked and all went well.

Thank you, Karen for being such a wonderful friend after all these years - it's been a joy.

{The second day of Autumn, my favorite season}

It happens quietly when you're not looking, the colours quietly begin to change, a leaf gently falls off my tree near my study window, and the air is cooler and clearer - Autumn is finally here.

Pines

Even my girls love this weather.  We sleep better, we have more hay fever :( and there is so much more to do in this weather - like visit locations!

My oldest has decided to start a blog and photograph:

Alex

Of course, here I wax on about cooler weather and it's going to be 38 degrees Celsius by Friday!
